Mr. Locksmith DC replaced our front door lock and deadbolt within less than 30 minutes of arriving at our home. He also opened a safe for us (battery died and we didn't have the override key). He arrived on time, was professional, and completed the job within less than hour. He kept me informed regarding the estimated price and let me know when a more expensive option was needed. After our bad experience with another locksmith (see below), it was great to have resolution of our security concerns in less than an hour. I highly recommend Mr. Locksmith DC.
We especially appreciated Mr. Locksmith DC because he was the second locksmith we reached out to.
The other guy (Doc's Locksmith Service) took an hour of our time and didn't accomplish anything other than talking a lot (couldn't even open the safe). He took our deadbolt and key to find replacement parts and left us in that situation without a secure front door. He finally returned the parts but then said he lost our key. Instead of handing me back the deadbolt components, he insisted on putting it back on the door. He used different screws than the original ones (I guess he lost those too) and made the holes in our fireproof door bigger. He rambled some more and took another half hour of our time. In that rambling, he admitted he didn't know how to fix our door. I will say that at least Doc didn't charge us for his visits where our problems were not resolved. But after all that, we were especially glad for the professional, high quality work of Mr. Locksmith DC! We highly recommend this company.read more

I locked myself out of my office in DC.i google some places and find mr Locksmith dc (they was on the top of the list now I know why) and they were super nice and efficient they got to my office in about 15 minutes and the locksmith (Leo) completed his task and was on his way in about 10 min ! We bought an old house with six exterior doors, five without deadbolts and one with an old, strangely designed deadbolt. I ordered new locks online and had tons of problems with delivery and locks that were broken when they arrived, but Ron was beyond patient. He was extremely helpful and creative in installing secure locks in a variety of doors, some all wood, some partially metal, some with windows, all with very old frames. He ended up having to come out to the house three separate times, but he refused to take more than the original, very reasonable estimate. Now that we are safely settled in the new house, we will definitely be relying on Mr Locksmith for all our lock-related needs.read more

I see that most of these reviews here are for emergency service calls but Mr. Locksmith Dc also excels at scheduled visits as well. Every year, we get the locks changed at our house for safety reasons so this time we tried Mr. Locksmith Dc. Leo our tech arrived on time and worked diligently from start to finish. He made sure to explain every step of what he was doing and where the different prices for the different kind of locks came from. He also did a bunch of things like oiling all the locks without charging for it. He even showed me why a certain door was always difficult to open and wasn't anymore( turns out a previous locksmith had installed something incorrectly). Bottom line For anything lock related, home security, emergency or not, Mr. Locksmith in Washington DC is definitely your best choice.read more

I went to take out my trash and forgot to unlock the door from my laundry room into my garage. I didn't have my phone or keys with me. I had to go to my neighbor's house to use his phone to look up a locksmith. I immediately noticed that Mr. Locksmith had a 4.9 rating. When I called them from my neighbor's phone, someone answered the phone immediately. They said they would call us right back to let us know when someone would be at my house. They called us back in less than 5 minutes. Within the hour, Jacob showed up. He would have gotten to my house sooner, but was caught in DC traffic. He even called my neighbor back to let him know that he was running late. Jacob was extremely professional, efficient, and personable. He assured me that he would be fair and not damage my locks. While the "service" charge is $29 just for making the call, the price for a lockout service, (essentially drilling the old corroded lock) and installing a new keyed door set was very reasonable TOTAL at $170. The service was outstanding! We are a business and locked ourselves out of one of our conference rooms. They were able to get to us within 15 minutes of my call and took less than 10 minutes to resolve our issue.

Jacob is incredible: fair, honest, skillful, and a really decent human being to boot. I had to call out on a holiday weekend, and he made sure to give me a good price, even though he could have easily charged more. It was a tough lock, but he worked quickly, expressed his sympathy, and gave me good advice. Ideally, you'll remember to bring your keys with you (or have a kindly neighbor with a spare), but if you don't, calling Jacob is your best bet.read more

I called around 11am and was told that the technician would give me a ring later. He called shortly after to give me a 1 hour window for the same day and then again when he was 10 minutes out. Leo changed three locks to upgrade to better quality and new locks and it all took only a few minutes and they work great.
